KIT List "FriendWorking" Job Networking Event and informal Job Fair
Monday, October 3rd
6:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Join us and tap into the power of friends helping friends in a warm and informal job networking event that I call "FriendWorking."

I personally feel uncomfortable with networking, but I find that when you come with the spirit of helping others first, it frees you from the usual awkwardness and you end up feeling more natural and most like your real self!

The magic of it is that somehow good things happen to you, too!

Instead of facing a room full of strangers, the concept of FriendWorking makes you realize that most are just friends you haven't met yet! I have some dear friends whom I met at other events on my own. That's why it's worth it to push yourself to get out and meet new people. You just never know!

Informal Job Fair:
Though this is not a formal job fair,some employers and recruiters will be there and I'll have tables for them to post jobs and meet with you. If you are an employer or recruiter, tables need to be booked ahead of time. Please contact me directly at sue@kitlist.org to reserve a table.

Networking exercises to make it easy to connect!
This is an informal and relaxed mixer to connect with new people and see how you can help each other through your ideas, personal networks, and job search tips and strategies.

We'll have people to break into smaller groups to answer a few questions we'll ask you all to ask and share within your smaller group.

This is an important way to meet new people outside of your usual professional circles, so we'll be encouraging people to connect with others in different fields (e.g. marketing, engineering, finance, sales, HR, IT, etc.). The beauty of this is that you just never know who is going to be the person to connect you to the next job you'll love -- or who you will help land their perfect job!

[KITlist-Tech] File - Subscription Tips to Post, Subscribe, Unsubscribe

I've compiled a few "tips and tricks" on using the KITlist-Tech group with the hopes that this information will eliminate direct mail to the moderators with these questions. Please read through these instructions.

The best way to use Yahoo groups is via the Yahoo groups website. By doing so, this allows you to change your email preferences from individual emails, to daily digest, to no email at all. Here's how:

Go to:

If you're not already a member, you'll join here. This allows you to then edit your membership and indicate your email preferences. Also, you can read all job postings via the website, respond directly to posts without having to decipher a cut-off email address, and peruse archived messages.

Of course, you can also subscribe by sending an email to:

And you can unsubscribe by sending an email from the address you subscribed with to:

[KITlist-Tech] File - Tell a Friend! Plus, tips to manage KIT Email Volume

Hello Everyone,

We've grown to over 71,000 members just by word-of-mouth by friends helping friends find great jobs.

I really appreciate all the support and the amazing people in this special community!

In order to have enough great jobs for everyone, we need you to tell employers and recruiters about the KIT List so we can get everyone back to work (or into new jobs) faster. The power of friends helping friends is the whole spirit of the KIT List!

KIT LIST TIPS:

This is the monthly reminder to let you know that if the volume of KIT emails is getting too much for your system, here are three options to help you manage them:

1. Direct all KIT emails to a special folder:

Some email systems allow you to create separate folders within your in-box. Create a KIT List folder and then create an email filter that will direct any emails with the word "KIT" in the subject line into that folder.

2. Have your emails grouped into one (or more) KIT email per day:

You can choose "Daily Digest" on your YahooGroups email preferences so that instead of getting individual emails. About twenty individual emails are then combined into one. Depending on the email volume for the day, you may receive more than one digest email.

Go to the KIT List home page on Yahoo Groups at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/KITlist-Tech/

Go to the "Edit Membership" link near the top of the page right above the blue bar saying "Sue Connelly's Keep In Touch List." Under Step 2, choose "Daily Digest" in the "Message Delivery" section. Hit the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page, and you should be all set.

3. Stop all KIT emails and view jobs via the Web:

Go to the KIT List home page on Yahoo Groups at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/KITlist-Tech/

Go to the "Edit Membership" link near the top of the page right above the blue bar saying "Sue Connelly's Keep In Touch List." Then go under "Message Delivery" and choose "Special Notices." Be sure to choose "Special Notices" since we do occasionally send out important messages from the moderators. Then hit the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page.

Also, please let us know if you get a job or candidate from the KIT List, it means a lot to us (Amy, Kelly and me) to hear how it's working for you!

Candidates must have experience in daily content production of a large web site; strong HTML skills, and the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects. The Web Marketing Producer must be able to handle multiple responsibilities concurrently, and the ability and desire to expand knowledge and responsibilities into other areas of expertise a huge plus.

What you'll do

•Author and manage multiple content updates on localized company sites working with marketing content providers

•Manage promotion calendars with international producers to ensure smooth and consistent promotion launches in all GEOs.

•Work with cross-functional groups to prioritize and implement new features and updates across adobe.com web sites

•Identify, log, and track bugs with internal development team.

•Manage and prioritize multiple, simultaneous content updates and new feature requests

Desired Skills and Experience/What you need to succeed

•Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

•Candidates must have three to five years of online content production experience using Content Management Systems, and version control

•Experience managing multiple concurrent projects across web production, web marketing execution, tracking, analytics, etc.

•Ability to justify needs with impact to business.

•Ability to manage project dependencies and expectations from external teams.

Front End UI contractor needed for a long term direct client project. Client is stable and growing.

We are looking for a talented front-end UI application software engineer. You will work as part of a high-caliber team developing world-class web-based front-end UI components for managing and monitoring one or more storage appliances. We need a self-starter who can hit the ground running and be productive quickly.

Responsibilities:

-Design, develop, integrate, debug, test and deliver top-quality, scalable, and high-performance web-application user interface (UI) code using latest Javascript technologies.

-Work with UX engineers, other front-end and back-end engineers to learn about all parts of the stack and features, conduct code-reviews, contribute to the API design and definition, when needed, and constantly improve the innovative engineering culture and best development practices within the group.

-Work closely with the product design and product management teams, to help define and design highly usable and responsive solutions to meet our customers' needs.

-Optimize performance of JavaScript applications.

Skills Qualifications:

-8+ years of development experience building highly modular, responsive, and amazing Javascript-heavy web applications for rich and involved user workflows.

-Strong hands-on and expertise level coding experience with Angular JS, or other similar major JS frameworks, CSS3, and HTML5.

-Strong debugging abilities across all major browsers.

-Solid understanding of JavaScript modular design and testing principles, requirements gathering, and use case analysis.

-Good understanding of internationalization and localization is preferred.

-Prior experience of using APIs and integrating with APIs of different kinds including SOAP and REST (preferred).

-Prior experience in Storage, Network, and/or System Management is a plus

-Experience working with build, testing, and integration tools (e.g. JUnit, Mocha, Webpack, Jasmine, Sass, NPM).

-Excellent verbal, written, and communications skills is a must

-Ability to handle multiple concurrent activities and have a flexible, positive attitude

-Must be team-oriented, with an interest and willingness to help the team as a whole

I wanted to share the news about a powerful and fun Girls' Festival that WorldWide Women is hosting to help thousands of girls of all ages, covering leadership, STEM, career planning, wellness and more.
