Product Manager needed for long term client project. As a Product Manager for Search, you will drive defining the vision, strategy and initiatives to bring Search to the next level. You will implement improvements to onsite search, drive changes to optimize results and help defining a cross-platform strategy with the goal of creating a world-class, unified, and contextually relevant Search experience.
In this role, you'll focus on the customer-facing features, information, and look feel of search results on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. On a day-to-day basis, youll be part of a highly collaborative team that works on driving better experiences and conversion through our search channel. Technical background preferred.
Local candidates with Local Experience preferred due to in person interviewing. (Local = San Francisco Bay Area)
Key Qualifications
Our ideal candidate has in-depth experience working on Search programs for large- scale sites, both customer-facing features and back-end capabilities. You will be self-directed, operationally minded with strong technical background in Search technologies and applications. You will have a deep understanding and point of view on what drives modern day search; working hand in hand with our AI, NLP, Design, Analytics and Product teams. You have an understanding of Search from a user perspective and the ability to clearly articulate requirements to engineering, analytics and product management partners. A strong understanding of Web analytics software that track the success of our platforms is a plus, including:
• 5+ years of hands-on experience working in large-scale global search solution for e- commerce entities (required)
• 3+ years of PM-ing search platform architectures with machine learning back-end
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise search KPI
• Knowledge of Solr, ElasticSearch, Endeca, Apache Lucene indexing (hands-on desired)
• Familiarity with semantic and conceptual search
• Comfortable rolling up the sleeves and working across functions
• Prior experience in working with UX
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment where ambiguity and short turnaround schedules are the norm.
• Strong sense of e-commerce customer psychology, user experience and uncompromising focus on the highest quality
• Demonstrated success in business process improvement/re-engineering
• Effectively able to communicate to a global audience and to management teams
• Self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Must exhibit high degree of ownership and accountability.
Education
BA/BS. MBA a plus.
