We are well funded, profitable startup that is launching an exciting new expansion strategy that could be big. We are looking for a very strong Hands on UI Manager (up to director)
Position Overview:
The Senior Manager of User Experience Development is an experienced development manager who is passionate about user interaction and building user interfaces. This role is responsible for guiding and expanding a strong team of designers and developers charged with designing and building our user interfaces, including Web self-service applications for advertiser and publisher ad provisioning, a mobile application SDK comprised of voice and visual ad units, and voice activated IVR applications. His/her primary goal is to fully understand our business and product requirements and then lead the design and development of creative, fun, easy-to-learn graphical interfaces that user's love. Finally, he/she must be a great communicator and hands-on contributor with a roll-up-the-sleeves mentality.
Key Responsibilities
• Interact with sales, ad operations, and product management to understand business and product requirements
• Lead the design and development of world class graphical and voice user interfaces
• Implement a user focused design and development process, including usability and performance testing and analysis
• Manage and grow a team of UX designers and developers
• Help provide support and coach best UX practices to publishers implementing our ad monetization API and SDK
Qualifications
• HTML, CSS and JavaScript mastery
• Expert knowledge of DOM manipulation
• Strong knowledge of AJAX, Flex, and Flash
• iPhone and Android UX design and development a huge plus
• Background in Java, J2EE Web apps, MVC design (e.g. Struts)
• Knowledge of object/relational persistence/IOC framework such as Hibernate/Spring
• Not necessary to be a superstar designer, but must be able to guide and manage UI/UX designers
• Must be passionate about investigating new UX technologies and using them to keep our products on the leading edge
• Experience and preference for working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• Good communication skills and proven ability to interact effectively with other team members
• BS or MS in computer science
Desired Experience
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in UI/UX development
• Experience in developing web applications using Tomcat, WebSphere or similar web/app servers
• Telephony (VXML) and mobile app development experience is a plus
