The Architect Web Applications will be responsible for leading, architecting and implementing a massively scalable cloud application backend and front end that will be accessed from laptops, mobile, tablet and specialized embedded devices.
Responsibilities:
Take high-level product specifications from product management/marketing and own/drive the web app delivery
Develop scalable web software architecture and implement the design
Lead engineers in a global team and provide technical day-to-day direction
Hands-on code contribution when required in addition to architecture and design
Required Skills:
BS/MS in Computer Science or Engineering
10-15 years of commercial software development including 5+ years building scalable Internet-facing web/cloud applications
Track record of architecting web applications based on high level direction and product requirements
Extensive experience programming in Java and/or Python
Experience programming in MVC frameworks like Django, Spring.
Experience building multi-tier scalable distributed infrastructure with load balancing, caching, message queues/RPCs, multi-pop deployments.
Experience with HTML5, Javascript, CSS, and browser-side frameworks like JQuery
Desired Skills:
The following optional requirements would be a plus:
Experience building mobile applications on iPhone/iPad or Android
Experience building Flash/Flex applications to enhance traditional web app functionality
Experience in building web-based applications in the collaboration space such as VOIP, chat, web conferencing and instant messaging
Implementation and deployment experience in cloud compute environments such as Amazon EC2, Rackspace, etc.
