TITLE: Flash Developer, Social Game Development/SF
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Our client is a social game developer located in San Francisco. They are seeking smart, creative people to join them--they are an energetic company, backed by top-tier VCs, developing the next generation of social games. Their management team has a proven track record, and their game designers are responsible for hits like...(ask me). With your help, there are more to come.
The Flash Engineer is the heartbeat of the operation. You will preserve the daily rhythms of the game through your quick attention to problems and your efficient management of code and software design challenges affecting a large network of users. This position demands a visionary whose creative edge is balanced by a flexibility to manage anything from user interface development to path finding algorithms. You should expect unusual challenges and relish tackling them with a dedicated team of like-minded individuals.
Specific Duties include:
Write compact, accurate code that communicates with their back end technologies
Own development projects in all phases of their life cycle
Contribute creatively to the development of new products
Perform confidently in fast-paced, high volume environment
Solve problems as they arise, meeting challenges on both the macro and micro levels
Write unit tests and come up with efficient ways to test complex multi-player synchronous and asynchronous game play
REQUIRED SKILLS:
B.S. in Computer Science or the equivalent
At least 3 years of software development experience
Demonstrated expertise in Flash development: Actionscript 3, CPU/Memory optimization, JavaScript/Flash bridging, Cross-browser compatibility
Capable of translating your code into organized and reusable object-oriented structures
UI design without compromising aesthetics of product vision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Passion for social gaming
