Summary: As an Applications Developer for Altus, you will be well versed in AJAX and DHTML You will need an in depth knowledge of JavaScript, with a focus on building DHTML-driven User Interfaces with complex functionality within the context of a larger web application framework. You will work well independently and within a collaborative team environment. You will have the opportunity to create mobile phone applications.
Sr. Web Applications Developer – JavaScript, UI
Requirements:
• Comprehensive knowledge of the DOM for Internet Explorer, Firefox and WebKit-
based Browsers
• Extensive experience in taking User Interface Design prototypes and implementing
as CSS-based layouts driven by JavaScript/DHTML for interactivity
• Experience creating Applications for Mobile Platforms
• Extensive experience using AJAX to exchange data to/from an application server,
including using JSON for data transmission
• Extensive experience with at least one RAD language such as PHP, JSP, ASP,
ColdFusion, Ruby on Rails, etc.
• Extensive knowledge of Object Oriented principles and their applicability to
JavaScript-based applications
• Experience in creating JavaScript applications "from scratch", or by using
foundational libraries such as Prototype to build off of
• Experience using PNGs within user interfaces, including using alpha-transparency or
the browsers that support them
A Plus if you have experience with any of the following:
• Using JavaScript libraries such as jQuery, Scriptaculous, YUI, etc.
• Scripting browser-based plugins for media players such as Windows Media Player,
Real Player, Flash, etc.
• Flash/ActionScript experience
• Creating browser-based or native applications for mobile phones, e.g. Android,
iPhone..
