Job # 1381 - Staff Software QA Engineer
Job Description:
The person will be part of a small but fast-paced QA team which works closely with development teams in an Agile development environment with sprint based release cycles.
He/She will be required to perform and develop manual and automated tests to deliver quality software and also help in setting up and maintaining the test environments.
The individual will help us build a new automation farm – the end goal is to have automation run overnight using WFS/Coder and potentially RMP.
1) Build a Server Farm – imaging, setup, installation and document that process
2) Enable the whole farm to be redeployed easily using images/scripts etc
3) Be able to convert Perl script to WFS using c#
4) Write a web page/s to display results
5) Deploy a web server to host these pages
6) Tune this
7) Document this new farm
8) Add benchmarking hooks
9) Get this farm running and functional
Required Job Skills:
- Strong QA methodology and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of one or more of the following scripting languages: Python, Perl, Windows Powershell etc
- Working knowledge of C# and web development technologies
- Strong System engineering skills with hands on experience of different operating systems, windows machine installation and configuration
- Ability to work with the development team and write test plan, test cases and other documentation
- Must be self driven and able to work independently
Good to have:
- Knowledge of video formats
- XML
- SQL
- VMware
Years of Direct Experience Required:
- 5 years
Areas of Direct Experience:
- Software testing, Automation, System Administration
Educational Requirements:
- BS or equivalent
