Job Title Compatibility Lab System Admin
Loc: - Mountain View CA
Rate: - DOEon W2 (including Medical and basic Insurance)
Duration: - 3 months
Duties
Support global internal engineering teams in a fast-paced development environment; respond to support requests as needed.
Perform the following duties as needed:
Rack and deploy new host and storage systems.
Basic system administration on a variety of UNIX, Linux and Windows systems.
Basic storage administration functions on a variety of storage array and SAN fabric devices.
Assist with the automation and deployment of OS images and advanced storage configurations.
Administer a lab inventory tracking system that will allow for internal Web access to system information.
Skills
Required skills:
Working knowledge of storage array products (e.g. EMC, NetApp, HDS, HP, Sun, 3PAR).
Knowledge of SAN, NAS, iSCSI and Infiniband devices.
Server and storage virtualization (VMWare, QLogic) experience.
Knowledge of Network topologies such as FC and Ethernet.
Experience configuring Brocade/McData/Cisco FC switches.
Experience using image automation tools such as Solaris Jumpstart, HP Ignite and/or Ghost.
Familiarity with distributed lab cabling schemes and patch panels.
The ability to rack and deploy computer equipment, including all cabling and electrical connections.
Preferred skills:
Self-motivated, customer oriented, resourceful and enthusiastic.
Background in System Administration, QA or Lab Engineering with UNIX and/or Windows.
Ability to be adept around new technologies with a focus on emerging hardware and software products.
Good teamwork skills and ability to handle multiple concurrent priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Positive attitude and enthusiasm for the job.
Education B.S in Computer Science, MIS, E.E. or relevant experience
