Functional Analyst needed for long term consulting project at Client Company.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Develop presentations using Keynote to communicate status, key functional specifications,
and scope to a broad audience of project team members ranging from technical to project
and engineering management.
2. Participate in reviewing Engineering functional requirements with key business
partners and the Engineering team to ensure accuracy and shared expectations.
3. Perform detailed Engineering functional and system analysis on how the system
works before and is designed to work after the project.
4. Drive gap closure for open issues relating to updated requirements or feature questions
raised during the development and testing phases.
5. Collaborate with the Project Manager to identify and resolve cross-functional issues during
development & testing phases.
6. Participate in Engineering application demonstrations to the business.
7. Maintain functional specifications, project scope, and cutover plan documents for
Engineering project deliverables. Ensure continuity in the documentation while enforcing
process standards.
8. Participate in reviewing test plans & cases with the testing team to ensure new or modified
functionality described in the functional specifications is tested via new/updated scripts.
9. Direct issues to appropriate project team members in Engineering during Integration
Testing, including escalating to the Project Manager where needed to remain on schedule.
10.Support User Acceptance Testing by directing issues to appropriate project team members
and keeping the Project Manager informed of high-priority issue progress.
11.Enforce issue tracking guidelines for all testing; including training project team members
when they submit issues that do not comply with the guidelines.
12.Participate in development of cutover plans.
13.Participate in supporting and escalating issues during pilot & production stabilization
phases.
14.Provide status updates; follow up on outstanding issues; and assist with issue identification
and replication.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience/skills.
2. Proven ability to translate business requirements documents into Engineering
functional specifications.
3. Very detail oriented and organized.
4. Strength to work in a dynamic environment. Must be flexible and quick to adapt to sudden
changes and issues.
5. Strong analytical skills.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. Ability to create and deliver effective verbal and written presentations to a wide audience.
8. Willingness to work cross-functionally with other teams.
9. Ability to work independently with little or no supervision while maintaining a high level of
efficiency.
10.Understanding of the Project Management Life Cycle is required.
11.Working knowledge of Mac OS X is preferred.
