[KITlist-Tech] Senior Product Manager B2C, Mobile for Lonely Planet (Oakland, CA)

Position Overview:

The position is primarily responsible for:
•Defining the KPIs and roadmap for free and paid B2C mobile products at Lonely Planet.
•Be a hands on product owner to get it done in a startup-like team environment.
•Help to energize the wireless team and the rest of the company by being an evangelist for your vision.
•Work with the VP of Wireless and other team members on overall roadmap and priorities for Wireless products.


Essential:
•5+ years product management working on B2C products in a small team/start-up environment.
•At least one year of experience (and a strong preference) for working in an Agile development organization.
•Good understanding of, and an instinct for, client service and general travel trends, the digital product environment and publishing.
•A strong analytical/data driven approach to planning and iterating products that can over ride your gut feel.
•Experience working with both internal and external development and design team.
•Experience managing external partner relationships.
•A commitment to quality and continuous improvement – including a willingness to question current practice, to be hands-on and with strong attention to detail
•Strong attention to detail on the fit and finish of products and over all quality.
•Ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff to achieve desired outcomes and build strong alliances and relationships.
•Ability to work effectively and enjoy working as part of a cross functional project team.
•Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain profitable customer relationships and relevant business networks to enable the identification of business opportunities and competitor activity
•Able to prioritise conflicting needs across the business to ensure positive outcomes for internal stakeholders, client and partners
•Strong advocacy for the consumer and their needs in engaging with Lonely Planet
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills and an ability to work with competing priorities
•Advanced problem-solving skills particularly in the area of how to leverage existing technical services and platforms to deliver innovative solutions.
•Experience working with third party suppliers and managing delivery across multiple time zones.
•Proven ability to lead teams through product delivery.
•Entrepreneurial
•A passion for travel
•A good sense of humor
•A desire to improve the way people travel

Desirable:
•Previous job experience as a software developer or a CS or similar type of degree.
•Experiencing developing successful social networking and/or location based products
•Previous experience creating and managing successful iPhone products
