#1384 - Senior Test Engineer - Production and Play-out
Harmonic is searching for a technically skilled Server Test Engineer for its Production and Play-out portfolio of products. This individual should have in-depth product knowledge of servers (IBM, DELL, SuperMicro, etc.), Operating Systems, test development platforms, and excellent software development skills.
Responsibilities:
- Support NPI efforts by working concurrently with R&D and Manufacturing to deliver highly scalable and low maintenance test platforms for manufacturing.
- Support R&D in performance analysis and evaluation of servers and disk drives.
- Structure integrated product BOMs (model, HDDs, NIC, licenses, etc.) for manufacturing production.
- Support the RMA factory and lead Failure Analysis activities on customer returns.
- Create and manage OS images for a variety of platforms/products.
- Deploy test platforms to outsourced integration partners and lead production issues to successful resolution.
Experience and Skills Required:
- 7+ years of developing production test stations and platforms with emphasis on servers and HDDs
- In depth working knowledge of Linux, MS Windows, BASH Scripting, Visual Basic, and SQL.
- Demonstrated ability of successfully introducing new products from R&D into volume production.
- Knowledge of digital video encoding technology a plus.
- Self starter with strong leadership, communication, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work and manage cross functionally across Operations, R&D, and SCM organizations.
- Has ability to adapt to the changing needs of a project.
- Has ability and desire to meet deadlines.
Educational Requirements
- BS/MS Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
