We are seeking a creative, dedicated and experienced software engineer keenly interested in creating a best of breed software test automation system, to join the Software Engineering Test team developing the latest generation of Explosive Detection Systems software at Morpho Detection. You will be a proponent of using virtualization technologies to massively scale testing capabilities and opportunities.
Primary Duties:
Maintain and extend automated test cases for an existing CTX Explosive Detection System emulator developed in C++.
Write and maintain automated system tests written in Python to exercise software builds in a virtual environment.
Write automated regression test cases and unit tests, in both Python and C++, for incorporation into automation test suites.
Use code coverage and analysis tools (ex: lint, bounds checker, cppcheck, memwatch, etc.) in automated testing.
Document use cases, requirements, and installation/troubleshooting instructions
Troubleshooting and debugging capabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
BS in Engineering/Computer Science or related field
Candidate will have proven technical skills in the following areas:
2+ years of experience in C++ software programming design, development and modification primarily in UNIX/Linux (STL, gcc, gdb – no need for kernel level experience)
1+ years of Python scripting experience in a production environment.
2+ years of experience in White Box testing.
2+ years of industry experience in object-oriented and multithreaded programming.
Use of virtual environments for development and testing duties.
Experience with standard defect tracking systems and revision control systems.
Knowledgeable in software development and software test process, practices, and procedures.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
Must be willing to submit to a government background investigation as part of the selection process.
Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
Must be willing to work out of an office in Newark, CA.
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:
Ruby scripting, shell scripting
VMWare environments (ESX, Lab Manager, vCenter)
Database scripting (MySQL, Postgress, SQLite)
Network testing
SVN experience
TRAC experience
DOORS experience
Must be able to work independently while maintaining communication with team and manager.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Work well in a requirements driven production environment.
