Symmetricom is looking for an experienced Software Test and Verification Engineer to join the San Jose-based GBU enterprise engineering team to develop test and verification software for new and existing products for our enterprise customers.
Job Responsibilities
- Execute product SW V&V (Verification and Validation) as part of the product development cycle
- Utilize developed V&V test cases in the testing, troubleshooting and debugging of software intensive electronics and related products
- Develop V&V test cases when an applicable test case does not already exist with minimal guidance
- Participate in Design for Test (DFT) reviews of product development efforts during the early stages of the development cycle
- Provide written documentation of the results of all product qualification testing
- Analyze test results to ensure functionality and recommend corrective action, as necessary
- Provide feedback in preparation of product User Guides
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS, Computer Engineering or EE
- Minimum 8 years of industry software/firmware testing experience
- Knowledge of current industry standards in software test development
- Collaborative work with the design team to product world class products
- Excellent communication, writing and organizational skills
Additional Successful Qualifications
- MSCS degree
- Previous experience using QuickTest Professional to test a graphical user interface
- Previous experience using Python or similar scripting language
- Previous experience testing measurement applications in a Linux environment
- Previous experience with GPS based instrument testing preferred
- Knowledge of the Linux operating system and TCP/IP networking
- Knowledge of web technologies
