Job Title: Operations Architect/Internet Cloud/e-commerce/financial transactions

Our client is a successful public company located in Silicon Valley, working in the financial transactions arena. They are looking for a talented, passionate Operations Architect with proven design and implementation skills to join the team, someone capable of making an immediate impact, contributing to the expansion and fulfillment of the team's vision. Their product is a large, scalable, global SaaS products.
Specific Duties include:
Partner with senior management on Company´s future strategy and lead the architecture and design of the Operations Infrastructure.
Provide thought leadership with respect to all technical aspects of operations including development of standards and practices, system architecture and design, functional design and implementation.
Member of Company Architect Panel to provide all aspects of technical leadership across all of Company Engineering.
The Ideal candidate has the following skills:
Extensive operations experience, any discipline.
Design experience, any discipline.
Smart + proven ability to solve complex problems.
Either has database development experience or non-database development experience, with db management and/or db design experience.
Required Skills:
10+ years relevant work experience.
BS in Computer Science, MS a plus.
Experience with well-developed practices and procedures in a 24x7 business critical Internet cloud operation, such as e-commerce and financial transactional networks.
History of demonstrated technical leadership on large complex projects and is a problem solver as well as technical innovator.
Proven and demonstrable experience in architecting, designing and implementing enterprise-scale, high volume, high availability systems.
Significant level of knowledge and expertise with hardware architecture, Linux kernel tuning, file system performance, Oracle, networking, cost-effective redundancy.
Substantial experience with java and object-oriented design and programming, SQL development, applications on top of RDBMS.
Demonstrated independence, creativity and initiative and the ability to understand the company´s architecture and business goals.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
