Cresta Partners, a leading executive search firm serving small to mid-size technology companies, is conducting a retained search for a Software Development Manager, OS and Protocols, for our client in the San Jose area.

Let me know if you possess the following qualifications and technical expertise:

Key qualifications include:

• BSEE/BSCE or MSEE/MSCE (a plus)
• 5+ years of responsibility for developing a total solution and interacting with other key business functions within the organization
• Experience with geographically dispersed technology teams, including offshore teams
Knowledge of C, C++, Java, Scripting, IDEs, Relational Databases, GUIs, LINUX, XML, Web Services, Distributed Computing Architectures
• In-depth technical knowledge of system layering: device drivers, real-time systems, fault-tolerant systems, and timing protocols (e.g., NTP, PTP)
• Familiar with Waterfall and Agile development processes
• Understanding of system integration and performance analysis

Technical expertise:

• Experience developing embedded systems
• Previous development experience with measurement applications in a Linux environment.
• Driver development experience on both Windows and UNIX-based systems (Solaris, • HP-UX, Free-BSD, etc.) especially Linux kernel drivers
• Experience in multi-discipline platform development initiatives
