Technical Marketing Engineer

Summary
The Technical Marketing Engineer role is primarily responsible for technical competitive analysis. This includes maintaining a competitive lab, testing and evaluating competitive products and working with Product Management/Product Marketing to develop associated competitive marketing collateral. The role will also involve other technical marketing activities such as providing support for Product Marketing events, technology evaluations for Business Development and RFP analysis and assistance for Sales Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform technical competitive analysis and deliver competitive positioning information to the Product Management and Sales Operations.
Assists in preparation of the technical aspects of RFI and RFP responses.
Serves as subject matter expert in IP, DDI, NCCM, Virtualization and related networking and security technologies.
Works with Product Marketing to develop sales tools including product demos.
Works with Product Marketing to develop and deliver content to Infoblox and reseller partner sales and SE personnel.
Supports Business Development efforts by evaluating potential technologies associated with partnering and/or acquisition.
Maintain and operate a competitive TME lab.
Skills and Requirements:
Minimum of 2+ years as a technical marketing engineer in an IP networking and/or two years professional services experience.
Demonstrated ability to do technical evaluation and market positioning of competitive products.
Experience of working with DNS/DHCP/IPAM products such Alcatel Vital QIP, BlueCat Adonis/Proteus, Efficient IP, Nominum.
Demonstrated knowledge of IP, DDI, NCCM, Virtualization and related core network services.
Extensive understanding and experience with IP networking and security.
Some experience with programming and scripting (PERL, etc.)
Requires a bachelor´s degree and at least 5 years of direct experience working with a field organization.
Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field´s concepts, practices, and procedures.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Position requires ability to work effectively with other members of the marketing team, engineering and field sales.
Requires the ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes.
Demonstrated ability to create product demonstrations.
Ability to create and deliver materials for sales, sales engineers and professional services staff.
