Job Summary:
The Technical Director for Interactive Set-top Box and Home Gateway Development will work in a multidisciplinary team to design, develop and optimize user experiences for interactive television. This position requires being a self-starter, being proactive, having initiative and the ability to overcome new challenges together with a strong engineering background and practical experience in developing rich interfaces and personalized user experiences. Successful candidates must have a proven track record of on rich web design and user interface design and development.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:
• Architect, design, develop and implement innovative interactive TV-based user experiences and services generating added value to service providers through the set-top box and home gateway.
• Development and integration of different home equipment and clients to provide services via a centralized hub.
• The engineering effort includes prototyping concepts with the design team, building reference platforms and creating production-ready user experiences for end users.
• Maintain, test and fix bugs on developed systems.
• Create and execute test cases for end-to-end acceptance plans.
• Perform system integration, testing and optimization activities to ensure flawless integration with other components of the system.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of 10 years of experience in developing user experiences for embedded system or set-top boxes.
• Ability to effectively demonstrate modular design and object-oriented embedded programming skills and experience
• Solid knowledge of IPTV, broadband Internet access networks, time-shifted programming, VOD technologies and web architectures.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Flash and ActionScript.
• Experience with source code configuration management and bug tracking system.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, matrix team environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience
• 12 years of related engineering experience
• XML, JSON, XSLT and End-User client development using Android is a plus.
• Knowledge of C/C++ and Java programming highly desired.
