Description
We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer. In this position, you will lead a small group of engineers, develop test cases and plans based on an understanding of software testing methodologies and of SEVEN´s wireless infrastructure software. You will work with the QA organization and development teams to review and improve requirements, specifications and test plans; design, develop and execute tests.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
· Design, develop, document, execute and maintain test plans for SEVEN's Mobile Messaging Applications. Focus areas for such testing to include regression, functional, and performance testing.
· Work with the QA and Development teams to automate testing.
· Contribute to QA operational process development, documentation and adoption.
· Identify opportunities for product improvement, with a focus on application features and user experience.
· Participate in technical reviews of project requirements, specifications, and test plans.
· Identify, isolate, report and track product defects in the defect tracking system.
· Work with QA, Customer Support, and Software Development to resolve product related anomalies.
· Work with Technical Publications to review product documentation.
Skills & Experience Required:
· BS in Computer Science, or related field
· 4-5 years' experience in a commercial software testing environment with an emphasis in application feature and user experience testing
· 2+ yrs. experience in client-server testing
· 2+ yrs. experience working with programming languages Java, Perl, JavaScript
· 2+ yrs. experience in Java API testing
· 2+ yrs. experience with J2EE, XML, JavaScript, and HTML
· 1+ yrs. experience with Unix/Linux OS.
· Strong analytical capabilities to identify incidence of issues across components of a complex software system
· Hands-on usage of development environments (IDEs) for the testing of desktop and/or Mobile applications
· Strong experience in commercial Mobile, Desktop or Web application (client side) testing
· Strong oral and written skills, Strong attention to detail, Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
· Experience with software development life cycles and product metrics
· Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment
Desired Qualifications:
· Experience developing or testing Mobile applications or products
· Testing experience with one or more Mobile Platforms including Android, Java (J2ME), BREW, Symbian or Windows Phone
· Testing experience with messaging applications including Email, Calendar, Contacts and/or Instant Messaging
· Experience using and developing a test automation framework or tool
· Experience with code coverage and profiling tools
· Experience with software configuration management systems
· Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle preferred) and SQL is a plus
