Zenprise is looking for a hands on Build and Release Engineer to actively participate in and improve build and software change management processes. You will be responsible for guaranteeing build accuracy, version control and recreation of software releases and build configurations. You will also have solid experience administering various bug tracking systems such as BugZilla and JIRA.
Strong scripting experience in Perl, Ant is required in order to automate build processes.
Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility of all stages of build and release processes across multiple products including deploying code, build acceptance testing in staging and QA environments.
- Build and release various mobile device agent applications ( iOS, Android, WinMo, BlackBerry and Symbian)
- Responsible for various customer patches and merging patch code into major releases
- Establish build and release processes and guidelines for all of Zenprise´s product offerings
- Automate and streamline build processes
- Create, optimize, enhance, and operate build and release automation infrastructure, testing frameworks, reporting, and tools.
- Administer and maintain source code repositories and continuous integration systems
- Administer and maintain bug tracking systems, engineering wikis and test management systems
- Work with other QA team members to automate test cases and provide scripting assistance as necessary to speed up build verifications.
- Design and execute test plans of urgent enhancements and fixes
- Research, propose and implement new tools and process changes to optimize and improve build management and source control
Requirements:
- 5+ years of software release and build management experience working in UNIX and Windows environments
- Experience creating and maintaining build scripts and processes for full as well as incremental builds
- Hands on experience in configuring and upgrading:
- CI tools (Hudson, CruiseControl)
- Defect tracking tools (Jira, Bugzilla)
- Wikis (Confluence, MediaWiki)
- Test management systems (Testlink)
- Product/software management tools such as Rally
- User administration and workflow customizations.
- Hands on / expert level experience administering and configuring Subversion and Subversion mirroring.
- Experience implementing best practices in build and release management
- Thorough knowledge of build tools such as Ant, Maven
- Scripting experience in Shell, Perl, PowerShell
- Must be detail oriented with strong documentation skills
Good to have:
- Working knowledge of programming languages Java, C++.
- QA / test automation knowledge and background.
- Ability and willingness to multitask / juggle various deliverables as required in a fast paced company.
