Department Description: We are Fusion Projects and Project Portfolio Management within Oracle. Our group is part of Fusion Applications where we are launching an entire suite of new Products
at Oracle Open World. This is a dynamic area where are building a entire suite of software products around Project Management, Project Collaboration(analagous to facebook, twitter etc for business world ) and also a bunch of mobile applications geared to the Project management area. We will be in the future adding modules for Risk, Portfolio management.
The PPM ( Project Portfolio Management) is fast growing market segment as there is more work in the world is moving to a project based model. The latest reports from Gartner also indicated that there is a lot of growth in hosting these applications in a cloud based infrastructure where Oracle is now fast becoming a leader in the industry so this gives you exposure to SAAS (software as a service) model as well which will be a key software delivery mechanism going forward. We also have a fun team atmosphere in which you can contribute.
Brief Posting Description: Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.
Detailed Description: As a member of the software engineering division, you will perform high-level design based on provided external specifications. Specify, design and implement minor changes to existing software architecture. Build highly complex enhancements and resolve complex bugs. Build and execute unit tests and unit plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering as necessary to discuss minor changes to product functionality and to ensure quality and consistency across specific products.
Job Requirements: Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
The job will be developing web and cloud based business applications for the Project Management area. You will work with Oracle Fusion Middleware and associated development tools to build
applications that are delivered over the web via browser, IPad or via mobile phones. You will have 5+ yrs of java development, mobile application and iOS development skills.
You will be required to understand software development processes. The key is to take requirements and develop finished code in a iterative fashion incorporating unit testing as integral part of the coding effort. The key language that is used will be Java, Knowledge of industry standards like WebServices, BPEL, SOA architectures, XML will be very important. Working well within a team structure and good interpersonal skills are essential to be successful in this job.
