Role Summary:
Our company is looking for an experienced NPI Engineer with drive, ambition and a desire to use his or her engineering expertise to execute projects from early prototype stage through launch to production.

The job of an NPI Engineer is a highly qualified position, to plan, design, arrange, change, optimize, and supervise a manufacturing process from concept to production. The NPI Engineer is critical in ensuring a smooth transition from design to production. NPI Engineers are creative and analytical thinkers as well as designers. Their main responsibility is to create, document, develop, and implement procedures required to assemble, test, process, and manufacture new products of the company.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

What You Get to Do:
• Be part of a product development team, bringing leading-edge products to market.
• Collaborate with design engineering to develop products and manufacturing processes for efficient, high quality production.
• Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing processes for new products.
• Develop and implement process control techniques and procedures for manufacturing.
• Analyze manufacturing process flows to enhance quality, reduce cost and increase throughput.
• Engage with vendors to arrange equipment, parts, or material purchases, and evaluate products according to quality standards and specifications.
• Estimate staffing requirements, production times, and relative costs to provide data for operational decisions.
• Work closely with the operations department to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training.
• Providing engineering support in production to trouble-shoot and resolve technical problems.
• Become an expert on solar energy systems and their manufacturing.
• Provide visibility to management and product development teams of technical issues that inhibit volume production and escalate any issues as appropriate to drive resolution.

What We Are Looking For:
• Demonstrated success working with volume production of electronic products.
• Experience managing materials and suppliers in an outsourced turnkey environment, including direct experience with top tier contract manufacturers.
• Strong NPI Experience, knowledge of ECO processes, detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time.
• Demonstrated ability to work closely and cross-functionally with Engineering, Product Line Management, Suppliers, and Contract Manufacturing partners to resolve issues and conflicts quickly and effectively.
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and correct production problems in a timely
manner.
• Enthusiastic, cooperative, and positive behavior.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Excellent communication skills and pro-active attitude
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Highly motivated and business oriented

Skills & Experience Required:

Basic Qualifications
• 5-10 years' experience working as a NPI/Manufacturing Engineer in a role providing technical support for a product development project.
• Knowledge of outsourced manufacturing concepts.
• Expertise in PCBA design and manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of power system or solar technologies.
• Working knowledge of networking or digital electronics technologies.
• Hands-on experience in electronics product development, debug, and assembly.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
• BSEE, MSEE or equivalent formal training in electrical, mechanical, or other
engineering discipline.

Preferred qualifications
• MS in Engineering
• Experience working for an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) company.
• Prior experience launching products into Asian factories.
