Encore Fellowships are structured programs that place highly-skilled, experienced professionals
into social-purpose organizations, where they help nonprofits build capacity, and ultimately,
have a greater impact on their communities. Fellows commit to 1,000 hours of work over 6 to
12 months. They are paid a stipend of $25,000 and are integrated into the nonprofit's
leadership team.


Since 2011, a Los Angeles-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has been
working in partnership with the Salvation Army's Bell Shelter, one of the largest on the West
Coast, to transform an adjacent 1.5-acre parcel of land just south of Downtown L.A. into a
thriving farm. The organization develops garden-based wellness programs for residents of the
Salvation Army's Bell Shelter using healthy food and gardening as a catalyst for healing.

Encore Fellow Director of Operations: Primary Role and Responsibilities

Encore Fellow needed to oversee all aspects of their operations. Building on the
work of their last Encore Fellow, the new Fellow will implement the new systems and processes
already identified while expanding and refining them. These include

 Staff and program oversight and measurement.
 Site and safety management
 Partner and landlord relations
 Development and growth of the social enterprise business
Encore Fellow: Key Skills Requirements
Key skills requirements include:
 Successful track record (25 years+) in Operations and Management
 Excellent communication skills
 A creative mindset and ability to generate new idea

 Accustomed to prioritizing, executing, and achieving results in lean environments;
always ready to engage and lend a hand where needed
 Thrives in a collaborative environment
 A belief in the mission

This role will be hybrid with remote and some days on the farm. No farm labor is required, but
is welcomed and encouraged to learn about the site and farm operations.

Talent Pipeline for a city in South Bay

Summary:
-Help improve how to attract the next generation to public service, retain talent once onboard, and build relationships with key partners to create an ongoing pipeline for talent.

- Assess current practices and pilot opportunities for change in those practices.

-Develop and present recommendations to enhance our work in our pipeline efforts.

Skills:
-Talent attraction process and strategy
-Program or project management
-Marketing, communications
-Research and evaluation

Work Environment:
-Hybrid in-office/remote.

Encore Fellowships provide paid, transitional engagements in non-profit organizations, for those considering retirement, with 20+ years experience, who wish to move to the social impact sector for their second act. Fellowships include a $25,000 stipend for 1000 hours of work, typically part-time for a year, education on the sector, and networking with a cohort of peers.

Title: Market Engagement Fellow


Work host: Nonprofit focused on building a path to a sustainable future by supporting climate tech innovators and connecting leaders with climate tech innovators and founders.


Work scope:

Market Engagement fellow will help build relationships leading to partnerships, grants and sponsorships, maintain relationships with current and past partners for best long-term outcomes, and help create and execute ecosystem events. The fellow will also manage the ecosystem strategy, programming, schedule and metrics.



Responsibilities include:

· Use CRM to track and pursue business development opportunities

· Seek out opportunities for outside funding from agencies, foundations, and others

· Track and organize participation in events and conferences, and proposal and deal-closing activity

· Support events including capturing event sponsorships

· Attend conferences and maintain memberships that bring value to organization



Skills:

· Experienced team player, capable of working with diverse groups

· Successful partnering experience with corporate and or public organizations

· Strong leadership, collaboration, strategic thinking, and communication skills


Stipend: $25K for 1000 hours



Work Location: San Jose and San Francisco locations; Hybrid work environment with a mix of onsite and remote required



Work Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week for a year
