We are looking for a full time Pre Sales / Post Sales Engineer in the Dallas Fort Worth, Texas area.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position provides Pre & post-sales engineering support by designing & implementing storage and data management solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Designs and implements server and storage solutions per the Statement of Work ("SOW").
0 Teams with the Pre-sales Engineers, Post Sales Service Manager/Project Manager and Account Executive to deliver the solutions to the client.
o Problem-solves and troubleshoots issues as they arise; escalates issues as required.
o Builds a relationship with the client while implementing/providing solutions.
o Researches and analyzes hardware and software issues.
o Maintains technical competencies and requisite server and storage industry certifications.
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
o Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering or equivalent field.
o 4+ years hands-on design and implementation experience with storage & data management solutions.
o EMC, Netapp, VERITAS /Symantec and other storage-related certifications or accreditations are preferred.
o Strong experience in Storage technologies and products from Netapp, Symantec and EMC. Experience with HDS and IBM storage is a plus.
o Strong experience in SAN and NAS technologies.
o Strong experience in Veritas storage and data protection products. Certifications with Veritas or Legatos are a big plus.
o Experience as a power-user of one of the following: Linux, Windows, or Solaris.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
o Strong knowledge of OS fundamentals for UNIX and Microsoft platforms
o Hands-on knowledge of x86 hardware.
o Practical exposure to storage and data management products, including HDS, EMC, Sun, Intel based servers and storage, SAN and NAS technologies.
o Knowledge of EMC BRS products is a plus.
o Knowledge of automated tape libraries.
o A strong Network and Virtualization skill set
o Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
o Excellent oral and written communication skills.
o Ability to prioritize and perform research on technical problems with minimal guidance.
o After hours on-call availability may be required.
o Ability to effectively work on and prioritize multiple concurrent projects.
o Self-motivation and team-player attitude.
o Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn new technologies and paradigms.
o Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
o Ability to research and analyze hardware and software issues.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
