Position:
Technical Marketing Engineer
Functional Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Provide Technical direction for their area of responsibility as part of Motorola PBN solution offering
Understands and solves complex technical problems
Provides input to product management and solution engineering teams
Supports Product Mgmt team on customer/partner & field sales interaction
Provides technical and architectural presentations to customers/partners and other internal teams
Assists Product managers in product solution collateral creation such as customer facing presentations
Work with business unit in creating and testing/validating Motorola infrastructure solutions.
Evangelize the Motorola PBN networking best practices & solutions both inside and out of the company
Works with limited supervision in defining goals and addressing complex technical issues
Reviews complex business issues with manager
Additional Product Line Logistics Responsibilities
Completes forms, tracks engineering deliverables for new products
Tracks critical components and manufacturing issues to ensure consistent supply
Manage product evaluations and trade show logistics
Interacts with regional product teams to manage field questions and regional support activities
Technical skills, experience & other requirements :
Solid understanding of Wireless LAN, LAN switching, routing and related systems.
Prior Sales Engineering experience in a networking environment required
Experience with multi-service (Triple Play) networks
Exposure to & experience with xDSL technology a huge plus
Exposure to hospitality or MDU broadband network services would be considered an added plus
Ability in articulating benefits of a given architecture and design
Prior work experience with the Sales/Bus Development and customers/partners in a similar capacity is required
Prior experience with building & supporting complex multi-vendor networks
Understands competitive landscape and identifies silver bullets against other vendors in the marketplace
Understands market dynamics
Experienced in the area of customer interaction
Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
Experienced in writing and documenting technical aspects of solutions would be considered an added plus
Comfortable in providing training internal and external audiences
Experience in tradeshow support a plus
Ability to travel as required for business (minimum 25% travel or more)
