Senior Technical Wreiter

Location: Pleasanton, CA
FrontRange Solutions, the developer of IT Service and Infrastructure Management solutions for mid-sized and distributed enterprises, is looking to augment its technical publications staff with a senior technical writer. This position will lead one or more software projects in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Write print and online help for customer relationship management and help desk products for a highly-technical audience.
Determine project requirements and write documentation plans.
Represent technical publications in cross-functional teams and work closely with product management, engineering, and other development groups.
Advocate user needs and the customer experience through knowledge and understanding of the products.
Assist in development of department infrastructure and policies, such as templates and style guides.
Provide expertise in next-generation tools and methods, including DITA, single-sourcing and content management systems.
Stay current with emerging trends in the profession.
Requirements:
Extensive experience as a lead writer for enterprise software products. Experience working with CRM and helpdesk tools a plus.
Ability to take ownership of projects and accurately scope deliverables and schedules.
Expert knowledge of FrameMaker, ePublisher, and other online help tools. Knowledge of topic-based writing a plus.
Ability to anticipate the user experience and identify ways to enhance it.
Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical or writing field, or equivalent relevant experience.
