A company that is one of the largest online dating services in the world is looking for an experienced Software Engineer who will be responsible for creating and maintaining multiple back-end systems, including software and databases related to finance, accounting, and transactional integrity.
Responsibilities:
* Create and maintain software used to manage, process, and report on millions of users and transactions
* Collaborate with product and finance teams to define clear requirements, deliverables, and milestones for projects
* Own significant portions of the codebase and production systems
* Work with other engineering teams to integrate back-end systems to the core application
Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in Computer Science
* 5+ years experience building data-driven software systems
* Solid experience with relational databases, handling data sets of millions of rows
* Attention to detail; ability to sleuth through large amounts of data, finding patterns and fixing inconsistencies
* Solid understanding of object oriented design, coding and testing patterns
* Experience writing and maintaining code in an interpreted language such as Ruby, Perl, PHP, Python
* Experience with Linux, PHP, and MySQL is preferred
* Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and/or frameworks
* Previous start-up experience is a plus
