General Responsibilities and Skills:
The quality lab technician will be responsible for executing, implementing, and improving test procedures of software, firmware, and hardware testing. The role will also be responsible for improvement and maintenance of the lab environment and equipments. Candidate will be a hands-on contributor in the product development life-cycle, must be proactive and able to contribute as an individual. Support team in testing and analyzing products throughout the development cycle. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Testing will be conducted on Belkin's diverse connectivity products including home routers, in car devices, energy management devices, etc (please review www.belkin.com for in-market products).
Specific Responsibilities:
• Execute manual and automated test procedures and maintain them including functional, component level, compatibility, stress and endurance testing.
• Basic experience in networking protocols and standards 802.11 a/b/g/n, dhcp, dns, tcp/ip, OSI model and networking test tools and simulation programs such as IxChariot, iPerf, Veriwave, Azimuth, ixia, wireshark.
• Programming capability is a plus using languages such as C, C++, Java, and TCL.
• Must be organized and detail oriented, maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Track and verify defects as observed while testing products with a high quality and detailed test report and on schedule.
• Assist in creating test plans and test cases for networking and mobility products.
• Execute and report on wireless and wired throughput, performance and range testing.
• Validating products and applications which may include analog, digital and/or video circuits, and logic systems is a plus.
• Support for engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry or specialized test equipment is a plus.
• Works from networking test topologies, schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or layouts to design and develop test scenarios or trouble shoot issues.
• Strong experience in Windows and Linux operating system administration and setup is a plus.
• Very good understanding of mobile operating systems, mobile application development and testing is a plus.
• Experience with LabView or MatLab is highly desirable.
• Knowledge in use of various test instrumentation including oscilloscopes, multi-meters, power supplies, loads, etc is highly desirable
• Test Automation with scripting languages like Perl, TCL, or Python is desirable.
Experience Requirements:
• 2+ years of demonstrated experience in working in a QA Test Lab or related field
Education Requirements:
• B.S. Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science
• Desirable Certifications include: A+, Network+, CISSP, MCSE, CCNA, and CCNP
