Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Summary
This position is responsible for all manufacturing assembly, test, and Inspection processes at the Contract Manufacturer's site; will work on test infrastructure & strategy at Infoblox Manufacturing and Systems Integration sites for all products / platforms. Responsible for manufacturing and end to end test process including functional Test, Burn-in, OS download, Configuration and data collection at each process step. This person will work with manufacturing and test engineers assigned by contract manufacturers to ensure smooth flow of product thru processes to ensure highest quality. This person will monitor the routing of all Infoblox products in the factory and will be stationed at the contract manufacturing site.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for manufacturing and end to end test process for all Infoblox x86 based server class products (In-house and OEM/ODM based) to deliver high quality product.
Responsible for reviewing the production line failures and disposition. Escalate the technical issues related to test automation / HW test coverage and SW downloads as appropriate.
Responsible for reviewing backlogs, daily manufacturing data and working with contract manufacturer engineering and manufacturing teams to meet production & quality targets.
This person will be working to understand manufacturing and field failure mechanisms covering all Infoblox platforms, identifying the root cause and following up through implementation of closed loop corrective actions. e.g. using customer configuration & usage scenarios at contract manufacturer.
Responsible for first article inspection / source inspection as required and creating ECOs / Deviations in manufacturing and implementing these to meet production rate targets.
Responsible for test infrastructure, documentation on process flow and training and certifying CM's staff as needed.
Work on improving yield / thru-put and cost. Define and run controlled experiments by working with other manufacturing teams to evaluate & implement process improvements.
Will be the primary contact for any manufacturing related issues.
Will be responsible to track key component failures and returning them to vendors
for RCCA.
Will work with test automation, NPI, manufacturing, quality, document control, supply chain and external vendors to meet cost, time to market and quality targets.
Responsible for driving corrective actions, maintaining key quality / yield metrics and reporting data in formal reports covering all failure related KPIs on weekly, monthly and quarterly intervals.
Majority of the time will be spent at factories working on manufacturing, end to end test and rework processes.
Skills and Requirements:
Ideal Candidate will have a BS/MS in EE/CS or equivalent and 10+ years of manufacturing and testing of X86 based systems experience.
The candidate should have experience bringing up contract manufacturers on new products (NPI). Basic knowledge of networking hardware is required and the candidate must have some test automation / hardware diagnostics (networking appliance) experience.
Ability to work independently in fast paced manufacturing of server class platforms.
Strong mix of hardware, mechanical & software knowledge of x86 based server class platforms and knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP.
Must have extensive experience on testing x86 based server / appliance products and sub-assemblies such as power supplies, HDDs, Memory and mother boards.
Experienced in test data collection and analysis.
Experience with root cause analysis on product failures (manufacturing and field), monitoring quality/yield metrics and in implementation and execution of closed loop corrective actions on x86 based server / network appliances.
Familiarity with generic manufacturing and test process for server class platforms.
Project / planning skills, ability to work independently as well as multi-tasking abilities.
Solid verbal and written communication skills.
Strong desire to continually improve manufacturing and test processes.
Prior experience working with OEM / ODM / CM is required.
Basic understanding of Linux / PERL, test automation, HW diagnostics such as PC-Doctor, networking and use of debug tools such as oscilloscopes, DVM and power supply tester.
Additional experience with special tests including Voltage margin, Environmental Stress, Traffic, Long life and On-going Reliability is a plus.
