Senior Software Engineer, NetMRI Team
Annapolis, MD
Summary
This is a senior software engineering role responsible for detailed planning, system engineering, architecture development, design, coding and testing of network discovery, analysis and management features in the "back-end" of the company's "NetMRI" Linux-based appliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating the core technologies that are at the heart of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
Generate software designs and scope effort for new product features.
Create software written in Perl and other languages on occasion as needed.
Develop automated unit tests for continuous integration and regression testing.
Work closely with other engineers in Agile teams to accomplish shared objectives.
Work with QA to help define effective system and performance test plans.
Participate in architecture development to address long-term design objectives.
Skills & Requirements:
8+ years experience in software development with demonstrated experience in leading design efforts.
Knowledge of Unix/Linux OS, Perl, and SQL are required.
Knowledge of networking is important; experience with network management and SNMP is a strong plus.
Full software development life-cycle experience, with proven track record of
shipping quality. software products on time.
Experience in working with offshore teams is a strong plus.
Results oriented, solid work ethic with excellent attention to detail and quality.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Four year degree in CS, CE, EE, or other technical field such as math, physics or engineering is required.
Graduate Degree in CS, CE, EE a plus.
