Job Description:
In this role, you will be responsible for the synthesis and characterization of novel solid phase linker chemistries. Key responsibilities will include multi-step synthesis of new linker molecules, determining their stability under a variety of conditions, attaching them to solid supports, and testing them using automated solid phase synthesis techniques. You will be communicating results to team members orally and in writing.
Qualifications
1. MS/MA in chemistry, biochemistry, or equivalent with strong background in synthetic organic chemistry.
2. 2+ years of hands-on experience on research projects involving synthetic organic chemistry techniques.
3. Experience with anhydrous chemical laboratory techniques.
4. Experience with instrumentation used for analysis of small molecules including NMR, mass spectrometry and HPLC.
5. Ability to work independently and comfortable with the design and troubleshooting of experiments.
6. Excellent time management, teamwork and communication skills.
7. Excel at detail-orientated laboratory work and record keeping.
8. Computer literacy including experience with Word and Excel.
The following additional skills/experiences are highly desired:
1. Experience with solid phase synthesis.
2. Experience with automated oligonucleotides synthesis.
3. Experience performing structure searches using Scifinder Scholar.
