Director of Network Infrastructure & Security, Peet�s Coffee & Tea, Inc.
OVERALL FUNCTION:
The Director of Network Infrastructure and Security manages the acquisition, installation, and maintenance of the organization�s IT production and security systems, local area and wide area networks.
Works closely with the senior leadership and stakeholders across the enterprise to set the long term strategy for company's infrastructure, analyzes technologies and determines current and future infrastructure technology needs driving towards superior maintainability, reliability, and scalability.
Has primary responsibility for systems and network and retail POS infrastructure management, LAN/WAN performance and security.
Establishes and implements policies and procedures for LAN/WAN usage and security throughout the organization. Establishes and maintains vendor relationships and negotiates purchase and service contracts. Develops and manages budget for infrastructure group.
Evaluates, scopes and recommends infrastructure and tool solutions to best meet the business needs of the company based on standards, scalability, sustainability, stability and support requirements.
Manages Network, Systems, Internal IT Operations and Support Desk, Retail Technology Support Team
Reports to VP, Technology. This is a full-time, exempt position.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Establish infrastructure technology strategy and budget projections.
• Provide technical leadership in design and administration decisions for company properties and systems.
• Identify, design, implement and support emerging systems technologies, infrastructure and applications on an ongoing basis to support both business needs and data/network security and availability.
• Specify our next generations of equipment, and drive material cost reductions in all aspects of infrastructure.
• Provide technical mentorship and manage day-to-day operation of the network, systems, internal IT operations and retail technology support groups.
• Provide technical consultation and support to other members of the department and to peers within the company.
• Oversee advanced administration, maintenance, setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of the SAN, servers, network equipment and monitoring systems.
• Maintain network security and data integrity and availability by monitoring authoritative security sources and ensuring that security settings and systems patches are proactively maintained.
• Execute the necessary controls and procedures to protect data assets from unauthorized access, modification or destruction.
• Develop and maintain vendor relationships. Define and negotiate SLAs.
• Ensure that PCI controls and audits are properly established, documented and followed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Demonstrated ability to build high performing teams
• Proven track record of Infrastructure and Operations leadership using a blend of in-house and hosted delivery teams
• Proven track record in streamlining workflow and eliminating process gaps
• Comprehensive knowledge of Infrastructure technology and virtualization to support a digital/ecommerce architecture
• Strong business acumen including the ability to work and communicate with all levels of the organization
Strong understanding of in-house and hosted data center operations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Expertise with Windows, Exchange and related technologies
• Extensive, expert level knowledge of data communication systems including hardware, software and applications such as routing, switching, firewall, IDS/IPS, VoIP, load balancing, sniffing and packet analysis
• Knowledge of Cisco devices and IOS to include Catalyst switches, routers, VPN concentrators, ACS, PIX firewall, Content switches, IDS and Ciscoworks. Minimum CCNA certification – "professional" level (CCNP, CCSP) certification desired
• Familiarity with Juniper networking technology (JunOS)
• Familiarity with Foundry NetIron and ServerIron configuration and maintenance
• Advanced level knowledge of networking technologies, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VPN, anti-virus/malware, web content filtering/policy enforcement, WAN technologies including T3/T1/ISDN(PRI), DSL, Frame Relay
• In-depth knowledge of network security and associated practices. CISSP or SANS GIAC preferred
• Knowledge of EMC Storage Area Network (SAN) technology, configuration and administration
• Minimum 10 years IT experience, Minimum 5 years management experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience
