At Exabeam we turn IT and security logs into meaningful insight, and it all starts by building a precise understanding of the individual log events. As a Security Content Engineer you will be in charge of analyzing the log activity that IT operations generate, and how it can be utilized to uncover hidden tracks. You will be creating the regular expressions that are the foundation of the entire Exabeam information model, and be responsible for constantly broadening support for devices and SIEMs.
You will be embedded in our Security Research group, staffed by seasoned Enterprise IT security experts, and work closely with the field organization, data science and engineering teams.

Security Content Engineer Responsibilities:
* Analyze logs from enterprise IT devices and create parser configurations to extract meaningful
information
* Work with the field organization to understand and resolve customer issues in a timely manner
* Expand coverage for supported devices and SIEMs
* Develop a non-regression testing process to ensure quality is maintained
* Define and refine the Exabeam information model and rule base
Desired Skills:
* 1+ year experience in IT environments working with Enterprise Security devices
* Deep knowledge of regular expressions, down to performance best practices
* Knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as Scala, Java, Perl, Python or Shell
* Drive for simplifying repetitive tasks through programming or scripting
* Orientation to details and good task coordination skills
* University degree or equivalent experience (BS CS is ideal)
This position is based in San Mateo, CA and requires working in the office.
No relocation assistance is available. Principals only please.
