We are a hardware startup made up of key engineers from Apple. We are looking for strong, full-time engineers to start immediately and help launch our first consumer product.
SW Product Manager (iOs, android, Cloud)
Responsibilities:
Drive feature definition
Gather consensus from design, engineering, marketing, and execs
Document working product definition or concepts at the right level of specificity given maturity
Present tradeoffs in customer experience, schedule, implementation resources, risk
Track open definition items and next steps to closing
Contribute to QA and field test plans to validate design goals
Managing implementation strategy and schedule planning
Strategically divide up the full scope of the product into sequenced iterations.
Decompose high level features into discrete and trackable tasks with the team.
Work with the design and engineering teams to estimate and track target dates for each milestone, align to cross functional dependencies (marketing, hardware builds, etc)
Look for opportunities to reduce scope in each iteration
Highlight dependencies that are blocking progress and help unblock work
Prioritize bugs (based on effort and user impact) and pulling into iterations
Gather consensus from exec, design, engineering, marketing on the plan. Facilitate conversations around decisions
Track progress towards each milestone
Track top risk items and strategically managing steps to mitigate
Include external resources at times as well as internal teams for design and development
Specific first product scope
Web/eCommerce
Manage development of our launch website and e-commerce store
Manage external development firm with internal engineering support
Drive definition and manage implementation of key marketing metrics
Develop transition plan for internal dev ownership 6 months after launch
Participate in the design process of our external design firm alongside internal design and marketing
Cloud
Manage definition and development of our mobile application backend system
Support core app functionality
Product engagement metrics
Hardware system health metrics
Marketing metrics and automation
Account system
Telematics data store
New feature concepts
Data analytics to analyze product performance and suggest improvements
Characteristics of an ideal candidate
Technical background, engineering degree or equivalent work experience
Experience in shipping well-received products
Empathetic and focused on being a customer advocate
Experience collaborating with designers, engineers, marketing, and QA and adding value in a schedule-driven environment
Deep knowledge in the nuances of other SW products (onboarding flows, interfaces, conventions etc)
Organized and detail oriented
Proactive and high energy
