Crawford Group (www.crawfordgroup.com) is seeking a Senior Communications Manager, Global Events to work as a full time consultant for one of our high-tech clients located in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role will work on a team that leads marketing communications and drives marcom deliverables for high-priority/visibility corporate trade shows, events and internal global communications vehicles. The position can be 100% remote therefore the consultant should have a wired home office. 20% travel may be required.
The ideal candidate must be a senior Marcom Manager with an enterprise company background and proven experience developing and executing integrated marcom plans with strong digital marketing initiatives. The right candidate will have proven expertise curating and developing original content to create and maintain community engagement. The Sr. Manager will also have a solid work history in writing communications collateral for marcom events. Looking for a proven performer in writing content with a creative style that speaks to various audiences.
Responsibilities:
Self-starter who can work independently and is self-motivated to exceed expectations by meeting deadlines, pushing creative boundaries, and creating original material that highlights the work of all events teams
Superior project management skills with the ability to drive deadlines and keep internal stakeholders aware of progress of deliverables at all times
Creative writer with ability to conceive and write various communications pieces working with multiple teams, challenging personalities, and various writing styles
Develop, manage and maintain Community Hub and Newsletter with the ability and passion to drive community engagement (across regions) and readership with creative content/articles and new ideas
Content curation for newsletters and Community Hub - gather content, conduct interviews with internal stakeholders, create original content, and manage review cycles for internal and external communications
Create and manage event award submissions on behalf of global events
Develop integrated marketing communications for global events – (Communication, PR, Media, Digital Marketing, Social Media)
Manage and drive program deliverables which may include: internal and external web pages, social media, communications, pre-event and post-event communications, direct mail, event collateral, booth digital displays
Partner with cross-functional team consisting of: Event Strategy, Engagement Managers and Event Program Managers for strategy and execution of all event marcom deliverables related to global events/tradeshows
Participate in the Event Experience Design (ED) and execute against the blueprint defined by the event strategy lead
Drive development of the strategic integrated event marketing communications plan, including: objectives and strategy, attendee profile, audience acquisition strategy, and internal and external communications plan.
Manage creative vendor(s)
Develop and drive event marcom program timeline and manage marcom event budget
Manage on-site marketing communications programs as needed
Post-event analysis/post event report
Skills:
7-10 years of marketing communications for events experience working for at least one enterprise B2B technology company
Skilled creative writer, with understanding of content layout and syndication (work samples required)
Ability to develop strategy, as well as flawlessly execute integrated marcom plans
Strong understanding of how marketing communications strategy is applied for trade shows and large-scale events required
Experience with development and execution of social media and digital strategies as an emphasized aspect of overall integrated marcom campaigns
Excellent project management and operational skills
Hands on experience with at least one enterprise marketing automation solution (Eloqua preferred)
Understanding of the creative process
Understanding of large, complex organizations/companies
Understanding of Jive (a plus)
Proven ability to drive projects forward in a rapidly changing environment with a strong emphasis on virtual team working and conference call meetings; Ability to work independently and be self-directed
Experience in engaging and developing collaborative relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
Extremely detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to travel 20% required
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or similar
