- At FarmX we are passionate about helping California's farmers use technology to save resources while improving their results.
We have developed innovative technology to help growers save resources, improve yields and drive sustainability by deploying advanced sensors with dense granularity to provide rich data to farmers. This rich data is analyzed in our cloud servers then communicated with new visualization techniques to FarmX's wireless networking pushes sensor data to the FarmMap cloud that provides real-time analytics based on state-of-the-art machine learning processes.
The FarmMap cloud leverages multiple data sources to drive precise recommendations that drive productivity gains while reducing costs-thus providing data for growers so they can make the best decisions and achieve the best results.
By measuring weather, plant health, and soil conditions – and integrating these in-field measurements with satellite image processing: we are able to make cultural practice recommendations for farmers that save 20% or more of their fresh water usage, while increasing yields. As almonds alone currently use 10% of California's fresh water: you will help save up to 2% of California's fresh water with projects you conceive and built with us.
The hardware for this major development is comprised of wireless radio PCB's and sensor interfaces using surface mounted components and mechanical enclosures that use plastic and PVC piping to ensure they are waterproof to IP68.
Our technical specialties include: Agricultural Technology, SaaS, Internet of Things, Predictive Analytics and smart sensors.

At FarmX we seek a hands-on embedded hardware and firmware engineer.
The new team member will ideally should have experience in micro-controller design, analog circuits, low-power operation, and RF electronics.
It would be a bonus if they have experience developing sensors of some type in the geo-physical or medical device domain.
We have a queue of exciting new sensors that we have heard large customer demand for, and this engineer will help create innovation that goes commercial filling an unfulfilled demand for improving the efficiency and conservation practices on commercial vineyards and Orchards.
This same role be responsible for the software drivers that would operate on the system he develops.
We are also innovating in mesh radio designs in the 33cm RF bands, that require practical experience in creating high-performing connected radio systems.
We already have members on the team doing many of these designs, so you would be able to collaborate with others – and yet also have plenty of room to innovate on your own systems independently.
Requirements for this role include:
-BSEE or BS computer Science or equivalent
-A minimum of Ten years experience building embedded systems
Startup up experience is helpful as we are a startup company with very little infrastructure.
Real pluses for us will include:
-Fielded sensors or radios that are optimized for battery life
-MSEE
