Business Process Analyst needed for long term (1+ year) direct client project. Client is Fortune 500 (stable, public, growing)
As a Business Process Analyst with knowledge of process mapping and business process reengineering, analyze business processes and workflows in pursuit of identifying improvements and areas for automation. Facilitate process workshops and document any information elicited using process maps and business requirements documents. Work with business and IT teams to find the best way to improve and/or design new processes and solve process-related problems within and across systems teams and applications.

-Excellent diagramming and communication skills
-Proven ability to run/moderate workshops and meetings
-Able to influence partners through data and processes
-Experience with effective requirements, data gathering, analysis, and stakeholder interactions around business process and technology needs
-Knowledge of business process modeling methodologies, notations, and relevant tools, including modeling and visualization tools
-Experience with analysis of enterprise–wide business functions and business processes in collaboration with multiple business organizations
-Knowledge of business process reengineering best practices
-Engineering background or experience working side-by-side with engineering for 5+ years.
-Good knowledge of Internet-based application development and software development & testing approaches and project lifecycle.
-Able to quickly take complex requirements from a range of stakeholders and distill them into a prioritized list of deliverable user stories.
-Ability to operate in a complex environment with rapidly changing priorities.
-Have the confidence to challenge assumptions and direction from business stakeholders when their needs are not technically achievable.
Job Description:
With a strong understanding of eCommerce and a blend of business and technical knowledge, research, gather data, and map the as-is data to publishing processes. Using exceptional business analysis, communication skills, and process design methodology, identify, improve and/or design new processes to achieve business objectives. See the big picture, understand project objectives and be able to apply understanding of how processes should work to operational improvement initiatives.
Inform/help provide direction for internal publishing systems application feature development by interpreting business requirements for the technical teams as well educating business users on process efficiencies and where technology can best help complement their processes to achieve the business goals, objectives, and measures.
Evaluate new IT developments and evolving business requirements and recommend appropriate systems alternatives and enhancements to current systems. Leverage highly technical knowledge to ensure efficient design, development, and implementation. Act as a technical resource in all phases of the development and implementation process.
Activities include, but aren't limited to:
-Work with stakeholders to identify business requirements, processes and risks.
-Evaluate current business processes and recommend solutions for improvements.
-Define, implement and maintain business processes and procedures to meet business objectives.
-Analyze and identify opportunities for business process improvements.
-Develop initiatives for continuous business process improvements.
-Work with other process engineers in integration of new and existing business processes.
-Using best practices, carry out business process analysis, re-engineering, process measurements and change management activities.
-Identify user needs and develop strategies to meet them
-Collaborate with business and IT teams to design new work processes
-Communicate complex data in ways that are easy to understand
-Provide input on business metrics that may ultimately help end users
-Make recommendations for product or service enhancements
-Manage process change
-Lead/facilitate process design/redesign workshops that involve eliciting process requirements and liaising with users
-Educate business users responsible for managing and operating business processes
-Applying their knowledge of business process modeling notations (BPMN, EPC, BPEL) to documenting processes.
-Use appropriate ERP, BPM, CRM and BI tools.
Education:
- Business Process Reengineering or Business Process Improvement Certification
- Lean/Six Sigma Certification
- BPM Certification (AIIM BPM Certificate, Certification from BPMInstitute.org, ABPMP's
- Certified Business Process Professional (CBPP®)
- BA Certification (CBAP/CCBA, BCS BA Certification, PMI-PBA, etc)
- Understanding of ERP, BPMS and statistical/data analysis skills.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant area
