Performance Engineer needed for a long term direct client project. Client is Fortune 500, stable and growing
** Local candidates with Local Experience preferred due to in person interviewing. (Local = San Francisco Bay Area) **
Responsibilities:
- Onboarding performance monitoring tools for IT applications.
-Build performance dashboards through Splunk, Extrahop, writing Java script and customized scripts.
-Define and create performance alerts based on performance threshold
-Work with application team and production support team to troubleshoot production performance and reliability issues
-Study and Understand Application characteristics including Business demand drivers, transaction metrics, utilization and response time requirements
- Maintaining Data repository Data correlation and trending.
-Report any abnormal trends
-Using monitoring tools to track every day data and gather additional information required based on need
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years IT industry experience.
-Minimum of 5 years' experience managing web based application or operations support teams in a 7/24 environment to support, Unix/Linux experience in systems administration Java application servers (JBoss, Tomcat, Jetty..)
-Expert scripting skills or creating some automation scripts. (Shell, Perl, Python, Javascript)
-Hands-on experience with monitoring and debugging java application servers with strong troubleshooting skills
-Able to provide analysis and support for large scale multi-tier application capacity and performance needs.
-Having understanding of performance testing methodologies for multi-tier web applications and using performance testing tool like JMeter or Load Runner
-Ability to use linux command line tools to parse, merge, analyze, and present performance data through the log file or real time performance metrics.
-Ability to relate web data, visitors, Page views and URL hits etc.
-Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
