We are looking for a highly motivated and self-starting Scrum Master to join our web technology team. You will work with a group of talented development professionals to produce world-class web development products that enable the management and publishing of our .com website.
Essential Duties:
-Running a daily Scrum meeting
-Managing the backlog of stories
-Managing the burndown of stories
-Making sure that stories have appropriate details
-Making sure stories get added to the wall when appropriate
-Making sure that the stories on the wall are still appropriate
-Effort point estimation for stories
-Story slicing large stories
-Identifying and removing roadblocks
-Coordinating with other teams so that stories and tasks mesh
-Understanding the agile management tool used by our internal tool, and ensuring that we are using enough of the features to make us efficient, but not too much and wasting effort
-Keeping the daily scrum on track
-Reporting to management on project status
-Sprint planning
-Managing sprints and the project schedule
-Guiding the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices
-Guiding the team on self-organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks
-Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
-Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the roadblock.
-Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
-Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
-Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example
Required Skills/Experience:
-First level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I);
-Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least one year for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
-Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns, complementary practices, and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.).
-Four-year undergraduate degree in computer science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Skills/Experience (Any of these is a plus) :
-Second level Scrum certification (CSP, PSM II)
-Adobe CQ5 or similar web content management tools
-Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least two years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
-Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Continuous Deployment, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
-Experience applying a wide variety of well documented patterns, complementary practices, and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach(example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs,etc)
-Knowledge and/or training in Agile Coaching
-PMP or other Project Management Certifications helpful
-Experience with techniques for valuing and ordering a Product Backlog
-Experience with TFS Agile tools
