Join our talented team of software engineers in building the next generation user interface for our flagship product the Navis™ N4 terminal operating system. As the global leader in the hidden but fascinating industry of maritime container logistics our N4 software operates the world's largest harbor and rail facilities.

Navis is looking for a web user interface technical lead engineer to create and deliver our next generation user interface of our planning and control software. This is an important, high-visibility position within the engineering department, leading development and delivery of this critical product line.

About Your Role

You will be the technical lead engineer in creating a new planning and control user interface that is graphically rich and web deployable. The new user interface will be based on a framework that can be used by application UI engineers to develop product user interfaces. The framework will to also provide the capability for our field engineers to customize the application for our clients.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead the creation of the next generation planning and control user interface

• Provide technical leadership- introduce new technologies, set best practices and patterns, and mentor other UI engineers.

• Develop a framework to be used by application UI engineers (e.g. library of JavaScript functions)

• Ensure that there is a clear separation between web based client side visualization and the Java Groovy-based back end business logic

• Design for performance and scalability

• Work closely with Product Management to ensure practical solutions

• Lead the development of Unit Test Framework

• Guide our QA/QT engineers in automated tested of web user interfaces

• Help us grow the team!

Your Skills

• Strong back-ground in enterprise web development

• Deep knowledge on JavaScript and Java

• Expertise with the latest html-5 web technologies

• Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS

• Knowledge of JavaScript canvas libraries such Three.js and KineticJS

• 5+ years of development experience executing the full software lifecycle

• Creative yet pragmatic problem-solver

• BS/MS/BA Computer Science degree or equivalent degree and experience
