JOB DESCRIPTION
Senior Software Engineer position for the design and development of the server backend. The candidate will lead in the design and implementation of our RiskVision platform and products which are built on top of the latest J2EE technology. The Senior Software Engineer will work closely with Product Managers and key solution experts to help define and implement the
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Design and development of the flagship product RiskVision and associated software. Expand the scope, scale, performance, and reliability of the product. Use judgment, creativity and sound technical knowledge to obtain and recommend solutions.
•Implement key application enhancements for upcoming releases and provide improvements and fixes to existing versions. Direct development and delivery of software projects including multi-tier Java application server with relational database powering a web based user interface.
•Interact with multiple levels of personnel, including management, quality assurance, documentation, support, services and product management teams to discuss customer demand, understand customer use cases and requirements, feature design and customer escalations.
•Coordinating and working with offshore team members as part of a distributed development team.
•Develop in Java and SQL using MySQL and Oracle databases, J2EE and Hibernate technologies using an Agile development process.
•Architect and design scalable and high performance platform and application layers.
•Responsible for communicating with QA and Performance testing teams to deliver a high quality solution offering.
REQUIREMENTS
•6 - 10 years of progressive experience in the development for a scalable, high performance enterprise product.
•Strong working knowledge of Java, J2EE, SQL, Hibernate and XML.
•Excellent working knowledge on any one of the following application servers: Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere or JBoss.
•Strong working knowledge of MySQL and/or Oracle.
•Experience with performance optimization.
•Experience with Spring Framework and/or workflow frameworks such as jBPM is a plus.
•Experience with Web Services (SOAP, JAXB) is a plus.
•Experience with reporting framework like Jasper is a plus.
•Solid knowledge and application of engineering concepts.
•Understands development methodology and development life-cycle.
•Problem solving capabilities and analytical skills.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in person and by telephone.
•Ability to work in a team environment.
•Enthusiasm to learn new tools and technologies.
•Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).
LOCATION
The position is based at Agiliance´s headquarters in Sunnyvale, California.
COMPENSATION
Compensation package consistent with stage of company and individuals track record will include cash compensation (base and variable), benefits, and equity.
