Move, Inc. in Westlake Village, CA is currently looking for a talented individual to join our team in the role of Senior Systems Engineer.

The Senior Systems Engineer should be a seasoned professional with a proven track record of relying on their innovation, creativity, technical prowess and leadership skills to deliver robust, efficient and stable solutions to their clients.

The successful candidate must have demonstrated support and deployment of high availability Windows and Linux enterprise servers in a virtualized environment.

The candidate should be a resource who has demonstrated experience navigating large enterprise environments, marrying complex business requirements to progressive design solutions, and overseeing the transition to production.

The candidate should be highly-motivated, technology driven, possess strong communications skills, can develop strong cross-group collaboration and is willing to take on the challenge of dealing with ambiguity.

Experience in creating and troubleshooting enterprise services that necessitated the understanding of the complex interactions between applications, server operating systems, network protocols, and client configurations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Participates in identifying business requirements; ensures delivered solutions meet performance expectations.
• Recommends program/project release schedules based on knowledge of software development life cycle; delivers functionality and ensures the integrity of the overall system
• Work with department managers and general IT staff to analyze and resolve problems associated with technical issues
• Develops and implements guidelines for the deployment and management of systems and software
• Analyze and document current operating processes and recommend alternatives including tools-based automation to improve efficiency and service quality.
• Work with general IT staff to analyze and resolve problem associated with technical issues
• Diagnose and correct network and application problems involving Windows servers
• Evaluate and recommend new software platforms and services
• Work on complex issues where analysis of situation and data requires an evaluation of intangibles and/or complex data relationships
• Manage day to day operations of VMware environment
• Mentor junior team members
• Design, recommend, develop and implement scripting tools and automation applications to improve efficiency and system availability.
• Provide architectural input and capacity planning strategies to ensure system scalability and functionality
• Flexible to work in a 24/7 environment

Education, Skills and Experience:
• Must have a minimum of 5-7 years experience in large scale server farms utilizing both Microsoft and Linux based technologies.
• Enterprise experience (100+ servers) with Windows 2000/2003, SQL2000/2005, Internet Information Services 5.0/6.0
• Enterprise experience (100+ servers) with Linux / Unix systems (Centos, Ubuntu, etc)
• Minimum of 5 years' experience with large scale VMWare deployments (100+ hosts, 2000+ VMs)
• Strong understanding of planning, design, implementation and support of large multi-tier web based applications utilizing hardware load balancing
• Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure including Group Policy, OU*s and Security Templates
• MCSA/MCSE on windows 2000/2003 or equivalent desired
• Experience with server clustering and load balancing technologies, hardware and software solutions
• Solid background and experience with automation tools such as Virtual Center Orchestrator, MS Virtual Machine Manager, Puppet, Chef
• Experience with enterprise monitoring systems (MOM, HP OpenView, Net IQ, Sitescope, Nagios)
• Excellent understanding of network (internet & intranet) routing, TCP, IP, DNS, WINS, DHCP and other related internet protocols
• Familiarity with SAN and NAS technology
• Excellent communication and project planning skills, highly organized, ability to complete high level projects with little supervision
• Good understanding of web publishing tools and multi-tier web applications
• Broad exposure to local and remote server support
• Strong problem-solving methodology and the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization as well as external vendors.
• Bachelor of Science in Computers or Business related field, or equivalent work experience
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
