Software Engineer / Radiology Monitors / Medical Device company /south San Jose

Job Description:
Our client is a successful, privately-owned Medical device company located in south San Jose. Their product is digital flat panel displays to be used for medical purposes. They are growing, and are looking to add another Software Engineer. This Software Engineer will work with other engineers on the development and maintenance of software tools and firmware for Company digital flat panel displays. Company medical digital flat panel displays are deployed at hospitals and clinics to provide best-in-class rendering of medical images for medical professionals.


Specific Duties include:

• Design, develop and test modifications to software tools in support of Medical Display products.
• Design, develop and test the installation packages of the software tools applications.
• Design and implement firmware for micro controllers, interaction with FPGA designers.
• Support and maintain software/firmware for existing Medical Display products.
• Design, develop software tools for internal use.
• Ensure application of software development best practices and sharing such practices with other team members.
• Familiarity with medical design documentation requirements is a plus.

Required Skills:
• B.S degree is required in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a software developer is required
• Demonstrated proficiency with ANSII C, C++, C#, .Net, Visual Studio, SCM tools is required.
• Experience with Mono, COM/ATL, NSIS, SQL, CrystalReports, Javascript, XML, HTML, and web-based design will be desirable.
• Prior success programming in a Microsoft environment specifically Windows 2000, XP and XP64 is required.
• Demonstrated strong object-oriented analysis, design and programming skills are required.
• Demonstrated success using Windows debuggers is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Demonstrated success working both independently and as part of a team.
• May require up to 5% domestic and international travel.
• May require some non-standard work hours to support business needs.

Desired Skills:
• Experience with firmware development for micro controllers is a plus.
• Experience with GCC tool chains is a plus
• Understanding of digital electronics, ability to read schematics is a plus
• Experience with Linux and Solaris is a plus.
• Prior successful use of Unix debuggers is a plus.
