System Design Engineer / Radiology Monitors / Medical Device company /South San Jose

Job Description:
Our client is a successful, privately-owned Medical device company located in south San Jose. Their product is digital flat panel displays to be used for medical purposes. They are growing, and are looking to add another System Design Engineer to their team. This System Design Engineer will work with other engineers on the development, testing and maintenance of Radiology monitors and other related hardware used in Company display products. Company medical digital flat panel displays are deployed at hospitals and clinics to provide best-in-class rendering of medical images for medical professionals.

Specific Duties include:

• Proficiency in Orcad schematic capture.
• Design experience in analog design, power supplies Spice simulation.
• Design experience in FPGA, CPLD and digital simulation.
• Good understanding of PCB layout process.
• Design experience in board production, fabrication and assembly.
• Analyze equipment failures and conduct tests to identify point of failure and conduct root cause analysis.
• May also review vendor capability in support of product development and improvement.
• Select and evaluate electronic parts, components, and integrated circuitry for high performance medical displays, and other related hardware items used in these applications.

Required Skills:
• B.S.E.E. degree required, M.S.E.E is a plus
• A minimum of 5 years hardware design is required.
• Demonstrated familiarity with board and system design.
• Demonstrated successful implementation of low EMI board layout and component designs.
• Familiarity with Verilog or VHDL.
• Demonstrated success using lab test equipment.
• Ability to interface with mechanical engineers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Demonstrated success working both independently and as part of a team.
• Travel may be required (up to 10% of the time)
• Familiarity with medical design documentation requirements is a plus.
