Java Test Developer needed for long term project work for Fortune 500 Client Company. Client Company is stable, public, and growing.

**Due to the nature of the interview process, local candidates with local experience only please (Local = San Francisco Bay Area)

Responsibilities:

Java Test Developer needed to contribute in test Engineering for eCommerce Applications. Individual must be self-motivated and be able to succeed in a fast-paced environment; you must work well and stay cool under pressure and stress. You must be inventive and focused in your approach to work and solving problems within project deadlines.



Job Duties Responsibilities:

- Design/Develop tests that can easily replace high amounts of manual testing

- Design/Develop tools and frameworks to enable the reduction of manual testing

- Work hands on in projects - understanding how the systems work, analyzing what can be improved upon and work on those systems.

- Discuss with Development Team functionality placed into their features and what engineering decisions were made

- Work on current tasks while keeping mind understanding the larger picture as well.

- Communicate decisions clearly as well as explain why you chose to avoid other options.

- Testing is an integral part of the position.

- Play an integral role in our team's technical development by running and testing business projects, designing and developing our team's projects, and analyzing and assessing the team overall.

Required Skills/Experience:

- Ability to assess situations, find inefficiencies and solve them

- Understand how to choose the correct designs and understand why.

- Core Java engineering and design (7+ years)

- High level understanding of many computer science concepts/frameworks such as Messaging, SOA, Spring, Web Services, Databases, Distributed Systems, Multi DataCenters, Cloud Computing, Big Data, HTML, CSS and the DOM

- JUnit/TestNG testing: Test and report software, and functional bugs in a detailed, timely manner.

- Communication Leadership: Represent the team and its technology in technical and project meetings and Scope and prioritize testing deliverables

- Understanding of Business/Team Deadlines

- Engineering Mindset:

- Working knowledge of UNIX-based systems and command-line tools for debugging, analysis and automation.

- Ability to analyze crash logs, backtraces and assist engineers by utilizing basic debugging techniques.

- Excellent communication skills (ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.)

- Experience OSX or Linux



Education:

- Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent degree

- Seven or more years of Software testing or development
