Salary: Starting salary is $44,635 - $52,832 depending on education and experience with increases to $65,713 based on professional development units as it relates to the current Lower Columbia College Faculty Agreement.

Description of Position
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the LCC Machine Trades associate degree and certificate programs. The teaching assignment will include machine shop and cross-discipline courses such as blueprint reading, materials science, computer integrated manufacturing and computer aided drafting.
Duties Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
• Effectively teach manual and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining
• Provide for the safe, professional, and orderly conduct of program learning activities, individual student learning needs, and the appropriate evaluation of student progress towards attaining learning objectives
• Advise students in the machine trades and related program areas, such as industrial maintenance and manufacturing technology
• Maintain appropriate records related to the grading and advising of students in accordance with FERPA requirements
• Successfully interact with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as part of an educational team
• Assist with the operation of the program's industry advisory committee and participate as an ex officio college representative
• Work with secondary teachers to create and improve course articulations
• Assist with efforts to recruit students into the Machine and Manufacturing program
• Participate in Industrial Technology department activities
• Hold office hours for student consultation
• Serve on committees or participate in other institutional activities
• Instruct day, evening, and/or weekend programs
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
• An Associate Degree in Machine Technology or similar and five years of work experience in machining, OR a journey level machinist and five years of work experience, OR a combination of education and other accomplishments that are equivalent to the above
• Applicants are required to complete vocational teacher training courses after initial hire if not previously completed
• Within 90 days of initial hire, industrial first aid training must be completed
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team
• Communicate effectively in oral and written form
Preferred Qualifications
• Teaching experience in a community college, technical college, accredited trade school or as an industry trainer
• Other manufacturing related skills and experience such as material science, manufacturing process, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, and/or Computer Aided Drafting
Candidates called to an interview will be expected to conduct a classroom presentation on a discipline related topic. When scheduling the interview, candidates will be provided further details on the presentation requirements. Candidates called for interview may be reimbursed up to $200 to help defray travel costs.
