Netflix is seeking a full stack JAVA/AWS engineer for the Content Platform Engineering team focused on Netflix original programming. The platform is used by movie studios to send the audio and video assets, production artwork, licensing rights, and metadata (such as artwork, synopsis, cast listings, and ratings) to Netflix.
We are looking for an extraordinary engineer to add to our team that will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and iterating mostly on backend features but is comfortable with the full stack.
The technology stack is a mix of frameworks such as Cassandra, MySQL, Elastic Search, Grails, and Spring. We use an agile development process talking constantly with our users while working on incremental feature development.
Responsibilities
- Implement new features in our system from initial design through deployment
- Work with users and product management to define what they want, what they need, and what we can deliver
- Find opportunities for continuous improvements to our system
- Fix production issues and rework code, monitors, and alerts for high stability
- Learn and apply Netflix best practices across the entire stack
- Be part of the team
Qualifications
- 5 years of web application software engineering experience
- Current object-oriented programming experience in Java
- Experience with modern web frameworks
- Effective communication skills and experience on a service oriented team
- BS/MS in computer science, or equivalent
