About this position:
Are you interested in building products used by millions of people? Do you like shipping code at a rapid pace? Rocketlawyer is seeking an experienced Front End Engineer that is passionate about building mobile and desktop web applications. This position is full-time and is based in our San Francisco office.
Responsibilities:
* Work with Product Designers to implement the next generation of Rocketlawyer products
* Build efficient and reusable front-end abstractions and systems
* Identify and address performance bottlenecks
* Participate in design and code reviews
* Interact with other team members to incorporate their innovations and vice versa
* Identify and communicate best practices for front-end engineering
Requirements:
* Expert knowledge of JavaScript
* Expert knowledge of latest web technologies (HTML5/CSS3)
* Ability to write high-performance, reusable code for UI components
* Aware of but not reliant on Object Oriented JavaScript Frameworks (JQuery, Prototype JS, MooTools, Dojo, etc.)
* Experience with integrating back-end web services, via REST-based APIs.
* Experience developing rich applications with HTML/CSS/JS/AJAX
* Passion for performance debugging and benchmarking
* 3+ years of experience building web applications
* BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
Highly Desired
* Knowledge of web architecture and the HTTP protocol.
* Experience with Angular.js, Backbone.js and Handlebars.js
* Experience with MVC development.
* Knowledge of caching strategies.
* Experience developing responsive web sites for web, tablets, and smart phones.
