Manage the product lifecycle from requirements gathering through production release
- Work with key stakeholders to define and document new features, functionality and enhancements
- Identify and present innovative and creative solutions to business problems.
- Work with development and stakeholders to craft effective solutions that can be delivered in a timely manner
- Document requirements including UX design, work flow, security and integration. Define use cases and process flows as needed to present a comprehensive requirements definition.
- Prioritize requirements and negotiate release plans with key stake holders
- Set a release plan cadence and publish
- Schedule releases with operations team
- Hold readiness meeting with key stakeholders to ensure a successful release
- Supervise Product Analysts such as assigning tasks projects, Mentor analysts, Assist with solution ideas / alternatives, Reviews work and Provides Feedback
- Takes ownership of Critical issues and follows thru, coordinating with other teams when necessary to drive solutions
- Work closely with development and QA on day to day activities. Set priorities and resolve issues/questions on requirements and functionality
- Provide leadership to the team. Set product direction and priorities, evangelize product vision and direction and highlight the benefits gained from product features and enhancements
- Keep offshore and onshore teams up to date on goals and progress, success stories as well as issues.
- Manage daily scrum meeting. Ensure communication across the team and monitor progress
- Keep key stakeholders updated on product status. Set and manage expectations for new functionality and deliver on commitments
- Utilize web services and API's to integrate products and platforms
- Manage Demand to Capacity thru regular demand management meetings with partners and a published quarterly roadmap of future demand
- Manage Vendor (3rd party SAAS) selection process, coordinate project team implementations, establish ongoing support and sustainable processes, and hire resources as needed
- Support and contribute to IT strategy for planning budgets, projects, and activities
- Responsible for Product Management metrics to measure progress against goals/objectives
- Attend weekly IT Leadership meetings and contribute to the success of the IT organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or business. MBA preferred
- Minimum 8 years of business analysis, consulting, or product development experience in the software industry. Experience with the delivery of new product features from concept through production release and customer rollout
- Excellent writing skills. Experience documenting requirements with Use Cases and User Stories
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Familiar with the software sales lifecycle and use of software to manage the sales process
- Understanding of software development processes and design concepts, including database design and data relationships.
- Experience with Agile development methodology. Minimum 3 years' experience in an Agile development environment
- Basic understanding of SQL and RDBMS database design. Expert understanding of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) design and concepts.
- Expert user of Microsoft Visio, Excel, PowerPoint and Atlassian Jira
- Experience implementing software solutions in medium to large global enterprises desired
- Team player. Able to work with all levels of management and end users
- Travel may be required to remote Meltwater sales, engineering, third party vendor offices
