System Software Developer (Big Data) needed for a long term project. Direct Client Project.
**Due to the nature of the interview process, local candidates with local experience only please (Local = San Francisco Bay Area)
OTM is looking for self-driven and analytically-inclined System Software Developer for a cutting-edge framework/application big data development project.
General Skills Required:
5+ years' experience in software development, with 2+ years in Big Data (preferred)
Ability to work within a team and passion for software development
Hadoop/Hive Skills:
2+ years of software development experience in Hadoop/Hive (preferred)
Good understanding of MapReduce Design Patterns
Good understanding of joins in Hive
Prior experience in performance optimization in Hive
Prior experience with Hive customization, i.e. writing UDFs, UDTFs and UDAFs preferred
Prior experience in writing custom Input/Output Formats or Custom SerDes is a plus.
Java Skills:
3+ years of software development experience in Core Java (preferred)
Good understanding of Algorithms and Data Structures
Prior experience with Maven and JUnit tests
Prior experience in MapReduce programming is a plus
Python Skills:
2+ years of software development in Python (preferred)
Prior experience with Python-Hive integration, iPython Notebook is a plus
Education:
Bachelor���s degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required
Master���s degree preferred
