Looking for a Developer with experience in Visual Basis, VB Script, SQL, Oracle, Unix and shell scripts
Description:
�The role of the Developer is to program, test, deploy and maintain existing and new software applications.
�The Developer assists in the definition, development, improvement and documentation of software business requirements.
�Under general guidance from the Senior Manager, collects and documents objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project by project basis in collaboration with internal Senior Developers, Business Analysts, other IT teams, Senior Management and Business Owners.
Key Responsibilities and Accountability:
�Learn the capabilities and feature functions of packaged software.
�Modify and create programs to maintain and enhance software and tools utilized by the Business Teams.
�Effectively communicate with Senior Business Analyst, Senior Developer, and Senior Management to ensure proper communication is sent to the impacted Business Owners as well as other IT Teams to ensure the appropriate corrective action and any preventative measures are taken.
�Execute successful unit testing and work with the business to obtain user acceptance.
�Test all programming changes, follow strict change control process and complete a Peer Review to obtain approval for changes, and migrate code changes into production without errors to ensure successful implementation.
�Create specifications and develop and maintain technical knowledge based documentation for any modification, upgrade, or enhancement, as well as daily procedures.
�Provide day to day support for production applications including job schedulers and create effective solutions to ensure their success.
�Utilize the job scheduling tool to schedule and monitor jobs, internally and externally.
�Provide troubleshooting support to the users (both corporate and store) when an issue is raised.
�Work with the IT team to provide a complete solution and take proactive preventative measures.
�Perform other duties as assigned
Required skills and Experience:
�Minimum of two years of related experience in programming and support of various software packages: Visual Basic, Ruby, VB Script, SQL, Oracle Unix, and shell scripting a plus.
�Strong background in computer programming and system development life cycle, including testing, troubleshooting and implementation Skills:
�Strong analytical, planning and organization/time management skills.
�Strong communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to work with people from all departments in the company who have varying degrees of computer/technology knowledge.
Education:
�Two year degree or two years of college with study in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience.
Other:
�Occasional travel is required
